Prof. Dr. Gian Carlo TENORE was born in Naples (Italy) on 03/05/1973. He
graduated on 30/06/1999 in Medicinal Chemistry at the Department of Pharmacy,
University "Federico II" of Naples, with a final score of 110/110 cum
laude. In the first session of 2000 he gained the professional enabling as a
Pharmacist. He received on 21/02/2003 the PhD degree in “Pharmacologically
Active Natural Substances” at the Department of Pharmacy, University
"Federico II" of Naples. He has been Research Assistant in Organic
Chemistry, from 01/05/2003 to 30/04/2005, at the Department of Pharmacy,
University "Federico II" of Naples. From June 1st, 2020, Dr Gian
Carlo Tenore is Full Professor of Food Chemistry at the Department of Pharmacy,
University "Federico II" of Naples.
The
research activity field of Dr Gian Carlo Tenore deals with the isolation
and characterization of bioactive compounds from food matrixes, with the
following aims:
ü Evaluation
of nutritional and biological properties of typical and under evaluated food
products;
ü Formulation
of nutraceutical products by employing bioactive food extracts or pure isolated
compounds;
ü Formulation
of nutraceutical products by employing bioactive extracts or pure isolated
compounds from food industry waste products.
The results from these studies have been the objects
of 148 scientific publications on in-ternational journals with impact factor.
His H index is 37; citations are 4324 (scopus at September 20th 2022).
